Sorry my friends. I have set my blogger blog to redirect you guys to my new WP blog. The redirect thing works only in Firefox (at that time I was using Firefox), and surprisingly not in IE and Safari (just tested) internet browser. I still don't understand. I just know Google and Firefox are on the same side; where Google (Blogger) is against Microsoft (Live Search or IE), and Safari is Apple's featured internet browser so I don't see why wouldn't Safari work. HAH I think IE and Safari suck. They are for internet novice users. Go get firefox now. lol.

IE sucks because:
1. It sits on its ass like a couple seconds before moving its ass to get our requested webpage or files.
2. It freezes mostly if an advance user (like ME lol) click or use keyboard shortcut too fast.
3. Closed source.
4. Lack of add-ons and available add-ons suck.
5. Scripts treatment and display is the worst compare with Safari and Firefox.

Safari sucks because:
1. Lack of add-ons and avaiable add-ons suck.
2. Closed source.
3. No status bar (bottom bar). So whenever we hover our mouse on a link, we don't where it will lead us to. (Security issue)
4. Lazy ass as well

Firefox is cool because:
1. Open source. (not that I care lol)
2. Configurable advanced settings. EG: We can change to time it'd sit on its butt to get a webpage. We can change maximum files or images loading at a time. (fast loading)
3. Themes
4. Add-ons (from web developer add-on to music download to shopping to time tracker on how much time u spent on the internet)

Anyway, I got two out of three midterm papers back today. This is good news!

I got 37 for the electrical engineering class. (i thought, oh shit i got 37% only: an F)
The total possible score is 80. (nope, it's 37/80 and it's 46%: an F)
Oh the mean of the class is 34.85/80. (still 46%: still an F)
Professor said she'd call the mean score a B. (a "B"!! lol)

Another midterm paper is from Statistics class.
I got 51. (oh shit i got 51% for that class???!)
The total possible score is 56. (that's > 90%. guarantee an "A-"!!!)
Yet, she will curve grades tomorrow 'cause most people got about 35-40 (if i heard it right from the TA). (then might be an "A" or "A+"!! LOL)

:sigh: by the way, I'm worried about the ethic class paper. There were 6 questions to answer, choosing from 12 questions. I only completed 4 and a half of them. Moreover, they are "suckishly" short, incoherent, unstructured, and extensively ESL word and grammar errors.
WHATEVER!

I'll call it a good start in UCLA.

PS: I don't know why professors in UCLA wouldn't make the exam score to the scale of 100, as in colleges. Man, it just freaks me out!

Now at 1.22AM, I'm taking a break from finishing my homework, which is due at 12PM. I've done 60% of the total questions so far.
I'm eating spaghetti that my sister made for me and drinking Chrysanthemum Tea. LOL

Anyway, I don't think I can go to Hollywood Studio on the 25th. Seth thom, I'm sorry bro.

Because, the following week 27th-31st Oct, I have three midterm examinations coming up; each one is on 27th, 28th, and 31st. They will be very tough, so to speak.

27th, Engineering Ethics (open-midterm): Choose 6 outta 11 essay questions to answer. Ideal length per essay is 1-1.5 pages, and I have an average of 17 minutes per essay. In all effort, I need a lot of time, to prepare for the midterm, outlining lecture notes, read textbook, and prepare references in various topics in case needed during midterm.

28th, Electrical Engineering Class: Class hasn't gone over the midterm review yet, so I don't know what to expect. But I heard last spring's midterms averaged at 30-40%. Likewise, the my class' first homework grades averaged at 50%.

31st, Statistics class: Piece of cake.

Instead, I might go to Hollywood on the 31st evening with Visal, my sister, Ramy, and Ratana.

Visal is coming tomorrow. :))

School is starting to invade majority of my free time now. Last few days, I forgot to finish a Statistics class homework because I was not informed about the due date. On the due date, 1 hour before TA session, I checked the syllabus and it was due on the TA session. I panicked, and I didn't bring textbook to school, you know, it's heavy and it's not used in lecture or TA session. Firstly, I decided to go to bookstore and photograph the homework problems. But million thanks to the iPhone camera, it sucks.

iPhone camera supports no zoom, flash light, brightness/contrast, auto focus and every other feature that are supported in latest SE or Nokia phone. This is suck.

Oh well, I purchased another textbook, $120.70 for that hideous paperback textbook. So well, I could manage to finish the homework problems on time. As I said, Intro to Stats class is easy.

I returned the book today and got my money back. :D

Anyway, last night as I was about to sleep, I checked the graduate program/master degree program at UCLA. I want to pursue the MBA/MSCS - a joint program of Master of Business Administration and Master of Science, Computer Science. It's a 3-year program. Once graduated, the graduate student will have both the MBA and MS CS certifications separately. I know it's really cool. And, I checked the graduate courses and guess what almost half of the Computer Science courses are what I am intended to take for my undergraduate study, Operating System Principles, Intro to Database System, Programming Languages, CS System fundamentals, Computer Network Fundamental, to name a few. So less a quarter for me IF I will be accepted into BOTH master programs. Yes BOTH. BOTH admissions from the Anderson School of Management, and the Henry Sameuli Engineering School are required.

The average GMAT score of accepted students for the class of 2010 is 711 with a range from 660-760. The mean GPA is 3.5 with range from 3.2-3.8. And, I need to take the GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) test, for graduate engineering school, also.

Whatever, I'm so hopeless. LOL. So, I did a search for another school with this joint program. Eventually, I ended up in a college review site. Here is a query search of UCLA "perceptual" rating.

bad day

Today is a bad day. Woke up late for Teaching Assistant session, one hour of two-hour late. Rushed to school and got to class in 20 minutes out of breath, sure I ran from parking space to class. There was nothing to eat at the school, and I didn't want to eat another Panda Express since the last three days were panda-express-marathon, so I had tacos.

Then I went for the 50-minute Statistics lecture. I fell asleep at the first quarter of the session until out time. Then I went to buy some clothes at the UCLA Bearwear store, because I had to use the 25% discount coupon before the expire date, tomorrow. And, and then I went to the English Conversation program, which its goal is to make international student speak more influence English, played word games. However, I found that program is useless. I'm not gonna go again.

Then then I picked my sister up for the Diesel-30th-birthday-limited-sales at the Beverly shopping center. I'm so fed up with the traffic in LA now. From 6AM to 10AM, don't go anywhere by 405N or S and same as 3:30PM-6:30PM especially 405N. And, during 4PM-8PM, don't kill yourself by driving on 10 East which is heading downtown LA from my place.

It really sucks, everyday. I want to pull my hair out every rush hour trip. Some experts say the number of people on 405 Freeway at 5PM is more than the number of people in Wyoming. HAHAHA I don't know if it's true or not, but cars that are waiting in line around 4-5PM near UCLA are always 2 miles distance from the Fwy entrance. Once when I just moved here, I wanted to go to Fry's and 99 Ranch market in Van Nuys (405N FWY), and when I saw the traffic line for the freeway entrance, "fuck it!"

Finally, I went to the HercUCLA meeting with my sister. HAHA I convinced her to join the business-part of HercUCLA team. The team's work is divided into 2 parts: Engineering and Business. Engineering does all the design (mechanical engineering), electrical device (electrical engineering), micro controller unit or MCU programming (computer science), and so on. And the business part is about fundraising, public relation, budget/accounting, and logistics (help to prepare paperwork and whatever regarding getting the race car to the race area).

Finally finally, after we left the team meeting, we went to Little Sheep for yin yang soup. It's really good haha I ate until Buddha-look-alike. Anyway, its a hell of a day.

omigosh, last night i almost never finished my first essay for engineering ethics class, because i left it until the last day. guess what, i had dinner at 1am after finishing the essay. this university made me stay starving.

anyway, school's tough right now. first week passed, assignments keep coming. and hey i joined a team in ucla called HercUCLA, a student-run hydrogen fuel-cell racing car team competing in the formula zero. i think i will be doing something like coding the micro controller unit thingy to communicate with the hydrogen, and also to communicate with the display. and damnit, it only supports C programming language. why ain't it support c++ pl, lord?

for me, learning c programming languag when i know some c++ is like learning how to write traditional chinese when you already know the simplified chinese writing. well for the greater good, c pl is still popular though.

lonely umbrella in phnom penh. hahaha

school started. there's not many assignments. so i decided to do something more not-boring sort of things. maybe another blog. haha

i was thinking learning microsoft expression web2, but err it's kinda hard to figure out how it should come out or what should it be. i don't have a plan so i can't do it. and, i also really wanted to design something big, but i don't know html and css yet. so let alone the big thing, small programming languages like html and css i don't wanna learn. it makes me feel frustrated to just think of learning html and/or css; so this is my resolution: some geeks out there gotta create an ass-kicking drag-n-drop or visual design web development software. i promise to download it from a warez site. lol here you go, i'm showing my support.

here's too a list of what i always wanna learn: more in-depth c++, java, javascript, php, sql, and ajax. they are programming languages of course.

anyway, i'm taking 3 classes this quarter. they are:

introduction to statistical reasoning. (easy stuff)
engineering ethics. (some killer; alot of papers)
logic design and digital system. (all about 1 and 0)
